The Mental Health Advancement of Culturally Competent Education to Stop Stigma

(ACCESS) program was founded in 2019. Since then, the program has exposed over 100 Black youth to mental health professions, improved knowledge about topics related to mental health and cultural identities; enhanced understanding of the mind-body connection; improved self-efficacy and career readiness; and engaged the community through youth-led mental health awareness and stigma reduction activities. ACCESS currently operates at Cambridge Community Center in Cambridge, MA, and Freedom House, Inc. in Boston, MA.

Building Bridges toward Equity in Early Psychosis and Careers

(2B-EPIC) aims to build a more racially, linguistically, and culturally diverse early psychosis workforce by providing paid mentorship and training opportunities for Black, Indigenous, and Latinx students to learn more about research and clinical careers specializing in working with youth experiencing early psychosis or signs of being at clinical high-risk for developing psychosis. 2B-EPIC is made possible through support from the MA Department of Mental Health.

The Hip Hop Transformation

(THHT) infuses socioemotional learning, expressive arts, career development, 21st Century Skill development, cultural exploration, and education program for adolescents and young adults that was founded in 2012 at Cambridge Community Center, Cambridge, MA.
